- Learn some basic greetings (with hand out)

2. Geographical perspective (20 mins)
- Climate, Natural resources
- Location of main cities and their features

3. The Japanese People (30 mins)
- General fact
- National holidays
- Social structure
- Family picture

4. Japanese History (40 mins)
- Root of Japanese
- Chronological table
- Japanese symbol / Imperial family

5. Japanese culture, religion, politics (40 mins)
- Japanese traditional culture
- Modern Japanese, Pop-culture
- Religion (Shinto, Buddhism, Christianity and other cult religions)
- Japanese Festivities
- Politics (Government & political parties in Japan)

Lunch break ( 60 mins )

6. Japanese Business Manner (60 mins)
- The use of titles
- Bowing and handshaking
- Exchanging name card (with practice)
- Seating arrangement
- In-group and Out-group
- Meeting Do and Don’t

7. Doing business with Japanese (70 mins)
- Japanese business mind
- Business tips

Trainer(s)

Ms Kaneko, Kazue

• Graduated from Kobe University, worked in Osaka and Tokyo for 2 years
• Completed Japanese teaching methodology intensive course in Bryn Mawr collage in the US
• Taught Japanese for two years at The University of the South in USA
• Obtained MA of Japanese applied Linguistics in the University of New South Wales, Australia
• Took up part time Japanese teaching during the MA course above
• Taught Japanese at a Singapore polytechnic, a private language school and a government ministry
• Business development manager and Japanese teacher at a linguistic solutions company for two years. Took charge of courseware development.
• Founded her own Japanese Language & Cultural training providing company, as Director and Instructor.
• Part-time instructor at Nanyang Technological University
• A member of Japanese Language Teachers' Association in Singapore
